Ken Wormald is a DC region-based real estate developer from Potomac, Maryland. Ken brings a wealth of experience from his real estate development company, The Wormald Companies, and has done projects in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC. Overseeing a fully vertically-integrated team with in-house engineering, land development, architecture, construction management, property management, sales and marketing, and brokerage, Ken has a breadth of experience in taking projects from idea to full completion. Winner of numerous smart growth awards and over 100 design and architecture awards, the Wormald name is known for its innovation and creative site solutions which raise the bar and challenge conventional approaches which often miss a site’s true potential. Property types under management span from a 2,200-unit planned neighborhood development to a single house in Chevy Chase. Product types range from an award-winning historic site mixed-use project with hotel, apartments, and retail with underground parking in the center city adjacent to light rail, to estate single family homes, to infill townhomes with roof terraces, to elevator condos, to class A office buildings, to senior living with assisted living and memory care. Ken is a graduate of the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate at Harvard University, and holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Richmond, and a Master of Christian Studies from Regent College. Ken is active in various industry associations, serves on the board of directors of two homeowners associations, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute, Baltimore. Ken has served as a Human Rights and Religious Freedom Correspondent in the office of U.S. Congressman Christopher Smith and has served on the Board of Directors of the Fourth Presbyterian School, where he chaired the Development, Nominating, and Land Committees. He is also a Coach for various children’s sports and an Elder at The Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda where he serves as the Liaison to the Urban Ministries Committee which is active in several DC charitable initiatives. He resides with his wife and three children in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
